Who we are
Couture Mode Bali Owner
This is Chelsea the owner of Couture Mode Bali from the UK.
Chelsea started the concept Couture Mode Bali after graduating from Liverpool John Moors University with a bachelor of arts degree in fashion design and communication. Chelsea realised that so many people would like to make their own clothing, without attending years, in university and getting into debt. With over 80 students on a university course and it being more self learning and seeing people struggle. Chelsea realised she could help more people to start their sewing journeys, without attending university and decided to do five day courses.
Before university Chelsea had a brand called Miss Mills, the brand was successful and worked in partnership with Topshop and was available in Trafford centre flag ship store, Manchester Arndale, Liverpool One and Lakeside Essex.
Chelsea has been in the fashion industry for 13 years, fashion buying monthly in Paris, flying to Milan and London for fashion week and attending fashion trade shows yearly.
Coming to Bali in 2019 for the first time on holiday, Chelsea realised this island was full of creative, unique people and it was missing a creative space for all these people to connect.
June 2024 Couture Mode Bali opened with fully qualified, Indonesian master Tailors who speak English. The staff are fully trained and Couture Mode Bali offer sewing lessons, dressmaking and alterations. Delivering a high quality service, everything is quality controlled.
With a lot of tourist flying into Bali and not having the time to take the in person course, Chelsea decided to make a online version of the five day sewing course, with the same experience, making sure we deliver start kits worldwide.
